Pay Grade: As per substitute pay schedule ($125/day)

Must complete background check/fingerprints before being eligible to substitute.
POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE
In the absence of the regular campus nurse, the substitute nurse will provide daily care, administer medications and treatments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide assessment and nursing care for ill and injured students
- Identify signs and symptoms of communicable disease and follow infectious disease control procedures.
- Demonstrate and utilize knowledge of drug and treatment protocols when administering medication and treatments.
- Inform principal, principal designee and Lead Nurse of health concerns noted on campus.
- Provide appropriate intervention for crisis situations.
- Serve as a resource person to students, families and staff as appropriate.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
LVN or RN in the state of Texas
